On the night of March 14, 2025, skywatchers were treated to a remarkable celestial event—a total lunar eclipse, commonly referred to as a "Blood Moon." This phenomenon occurs when the Earth aligns directly between the Sun and the Moon, casting Earth's shadow over the lunar surface and giving it a distinctive reddish hue.

The Americas and Greenland experienced optimal viewing conditions, with the eclipse occurring during the early morning hours. In North America, totality began at 2:26 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) and concluded at 3:31 a.m. EDT. Observers in Central Daylight Time (CDT) regions witnessed totality from 1:26 a.m. to 2:31 a.m., while those in Mountain Daylight Time (MDT) experienced it between 12:26 a.m. and 1:31 a.m. In Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) zones, totality occurred from 11:26 p.m. on March 13 to 12:31 a.m. on March 14.

The reddish appearance of the Moon during the eclipse is attributed to Rayleigh scattering. This process filters out shorter wavelengths of light, such as blue and violet, while longer wavelengths like red and orange pass through Earth's atmosphere and are refracted onto the Moon's surface. Consequently, the Moon takes on a reddish-orange glow, leading to the term "Blood Moon."

In addition to its visual splendor, this lunar event held astrological significance.
